We all have Mental Health and we can ALL be affected by a Mental Health condition - this includes family, friends and colleagues.

​

This course is 6 hours in duration ideally run over 1 day. If greater flexibility is required, it can be run over a period of 6 weeks permitting each lesson is a minimum of 2 hours in length.

 

It is suitable for everyone but has been designed with employers in mind to help them provide a positive mental health culture within their workplace. It aims to provide delegates with the comprehensive knowledge on a range of the most common mental health conditions. It will help them to identify and recognise a suspected mental health condition and the skills to start a conversation and be able to signpost a person towards professional help and offer support whilst that individual is receiving professional help and also afterwards.

Learners undertaking this course will be considered First Aiders for Mental Health and be a point of contact within the workplace to help and support those with a suspected mental health condition.

Building on the Level 1 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health this course introduces the First Aid for Mental Health Action Plan which allows learners to provide their peers and colleagues with comprehensive guidance and support for a suspected mental health condition. 

​

This course also covers the effects of drugs and alcohol and provides learners with the skills and knowledge to assist employers in implementing a positive mental health culture to support employees within a workplace.

Good To Know

  • Learners will be awarded the Ofqual regulated Level 2 Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health (RQF)/Award in Awareness of First Aid for Mental Health at SCQF Level 5.

  • Each delegate will get a certificate that is valid for three years (annual refresher training is highly recommended)

  • Qualification is gained and assessed through a practical demonstration of the First Aid for Mental Health action plan and multiple choice question paper.

  • 16 delegates can be accommodated on this course but all must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify.

Location and Costings

Onsite: We will deliver this course at your location for a group of 16 people (must be 14+). If you have a number of employees you wish to train in Awareness of First Aid for Mental health, why not contact us to come on-site and deliver it at your workplace. We will provide all equipment and training essentials.
